A 50-year-old gentleman has recently been diagnosed with moderate sleep apnoea. He is obese and has Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and hypertension. He reports that he will very occasionally get slightly drowsy when watching a film at home, and snores very loudly but doesn’t describe any other problems with fatigue or sleepiness during the day. He drives a lorry for work and smokes about 20 cigarettes/day. He is asking about whether he has any limits on driving. What advice would you give him regarding driving and the DVLA?
