A 65-year-old male presented to the acute medical unit with community-acquired pneumonia

A 65-year-old male presented to the acute medical unit with community-acquired pneumonia and was commenced on IV co-amoxiclav and clarithromycin. After two days of antibiotics, he spiked a new temperature up to 39oC along with malaise, arthralgia and painful swallowing. Three days following the onset of these symptoms, he noted targetoid skin lesions and vesicles along the thorax and upper limbs, involving approximately 5% of his body surface area.
