A 67-year-old ex-smoker has recently undergone investigation for a T3N2M0 lung cancer of the right upper lobe. He presents with a 48-hour history of increasing chest discomfort, dyspnoea, and upper limb swelling. He is awaiting a CT-guided biopsy of the right upper lobe and EBUS. He is haemodynamically stable and has no oxygen requirement. A further CT chest confirms evolving superior vena cava obstruction (SVCO).

What is the best management option to treat SVCO in this case?
