A 67 year old man was brought into the geriatric clinic due to worsening memory problems over the last couple of months associated with frequent falls. As you are taking a history from him, you notice multiple patches of erythema on his body. He reports that it is itchy at times. His daughter has also noticed that he is going to the toilet more frequently but puts it down to his use of laxatives. She also mentions that he rarely gets out of the house and feels that his mood has been low since the passing of her mother a few months ago. Since then, he has been drinking alcohol to try and cope with the loss of his wife.
