An 88 year old woman is admitted following a neck of femur fracture. She had been recovering well following surgery

An 88 year old woman is admitted following a neck of femur fracture. She had been recovering well following surgery and awaiting a package of care prior to discharge. She subsequently complained of mild dysuria and was found to be positive for leukocytes on urine dipstick; following which she was started on a three day course of trimethoprim. Her bloods were checked 2 days later, which showed an increase in creatinine from 103 to 144. She looks well, and her symptoms are improving.
