Researchers are investigating the efficacy of a new medication to prevent visceral organ involvement in Gaucher’s disease. Sixteen patients with a confirmed diagnosis and no visceral involvement were included in the study, with eight patients receiving the new treatment and 8 receiving velaglucerase alfa. MRI and plain radiographs of the patients were performed before and one year after commencing treatment to identify if any patients developed visceral involvement during the study duration.
