You are asked to see a 23-year-old man who was referred to the medical assessment unit by the local psychiatric team, due to concerns regarding oedema and dizziness. He is known to the local adult mental health team for some years with an anorexia nervosa diagnosis and has had multiple treatment relapses since he was 15. In the referral letter, his psychiatrist reports that his treatment plan had recently changed; prior to this, he had been struggling to adhere to the treatment plan. In the past week, he had gained 3kg and, on examination, noted he had non-pitting oedema bilaterally. He also reported some dizziness and palpitations.
What would you most likely see on his blood results?
