Epidemiology
The Ehlers-Danlos syndromes (EDS) are a group of 13 inherited connective tissue disorders. They are estimated to affect between 1 in 5,000 and 1 in 100,000, but this is believed to be an underestimate. The commonest subtype is hypermobile EDS (hEDS), followed by classical EDS (cEDS), with the other 11 subtypes being very rare.
