A 27-year-old woman presents to A&E with a dislocated left shoulder. She said this happened when she bent down to pick up a heavy shopping bag. She has a history of recurrent shoulder dislocation, and also mentions having dislocated her knee in the past. In addition to the above, she struggles with fatigue and chronic pain that is not controlled by over-the-counter medications. On examination, you note vessels and tendons are visible under the skin and there are bruises that she cannot remember getting. You calculate her Beighton score and it is 6.
