A 28-year-old lady has come into the obstetric clinic with her first pregnancy.

A 28-year-old lady has come into the obstetric clinic with her first pregnancy. She is currently 25 weeks into her gestation. She has no past medical history, and her pregnancy so far has been normal with no complications. She is found to have high blood pressure of 145/95 at the appointment. The midwife then proceeds to dip her urine, which comes back negative for any protein, blood, glucose or ketones. She has no other symptoms, and routine bloods requested by the GP two weeks earlier were unremarkable.

How would you define her hypertension?
