A 30-year old woman who is 20 weeks pregnant presents with acute sharp, pleuritic chest pain and breathlessness. Apart from respiratory distress, tachycardia and gravid uterus, her examination is normal. Her respiratory rate is 30 and her oxygen saturations are 98% on 35% FiO2 venturi mask. Her heart rate is 120 bpm and her blood pressure is 102/65. She is afebrile and alert.
