A 33-year-old entrepreneur with a background of alcohol misuse and gastritis has found himself changing his behaviour over the past few months. He now mostly works from home due to an intense fear that he will have an episode of incontinence if he leaves the house. If he does leave the house, he often self-medicates with half a bottle of whiskey before going out, which helps control his anxiety.

A few months after seeking help, he has had some improvement in his symptoms with CBT and SSRIs and can now make short, sober trips to the supermarket.
