A 38-year-old painter and decorator presents to A&E with visual disturbance which has since resolved

A 38-year-old painter and decorator presents to A&E with visual disturbance which has since resolved. He reports complete visual loss in his left eye, which he describes as a curtain coming over his vision. The symptoms lasted for approximately 3 minutes before resolving. He reports a new headache over the left side of his head, behind his eye, radiating to his temples and his neck, which has been gradually increasing over the last few hours. He is usually fit and well apart from some back pain for which he recently saw a chiropractor. On examination, there are no residual neurological abnormalities but he does have some temporal and neck tenderness on the left hand side. Which investigation is most likely to reveal the cause of the patient’s event?
