A 67-year-old man is brought to hospital having suffered seizures at home. He remains relatively obtunded 2 hours after his last seizure but is maintaining his own airway. His partner reports that he had been complaining of worsening headaches and nausea in the days prior to admission and had recently lost 15 kg, with a change in bowel habits. He is a former smoker and takes amlodipine 5 mg for hypertension, prescribed by his GP.
On examination, he moves his left side more than his right in response to a painful stimulus. You note conjunctival pallor.
