A 78-year-old man attends memory clinic with his wife. He has been referred by his GP after his family were concerned about increasing difficulties with visuospatial and attentional tasks over the year. This has been particularly noticeable since his discharge from the hospital around the same time after being admitted for a chest infection, which made him confused. His family report that he often reacts to and comments on seeing small children in the room, even when his grandchildren are not visiting. Recently, he has been falling asleep a lot during the day and his walking has become significantly slower.
