A 79-year-old gentleman with pancreatic cancer is being seen in the oncology clinic for his mid-treatment review. He has had four cycles of gemcitabine-abraxane chemotherapy for metastatic pancreatic cancer. His treatment to date has been complicated by neutropenia with neutrophil count of 0.3 x 10⁹/L with his first cycle of chemotherapy, for which he was treated with antibiotics and G-CSF.
