You are asked to review a 62-year-old man on the medical ward. He describes a 2-week history of progressive weakness in his legs starting in the lower leg and gradually progressing to include his knees and now hips. He is now finding it difficult to walk and so presented to the hospital. He has also now started to notice weakness in his hands and forearms in addition. He has no medical history apart from a bout of a flu-like illness 3 weeks ago.
On examination, he has bilateral symmetrical weakness in his lower limbs and mild weakness in his hands. His reflexes are very difficult to elicit. You perform a lumbar puncture, what would you expect this to show?
