You are asked to see an 80-year-old man on the stroke ward out of hours on a Sunday evening

You are asked to see an 80-year-old man on the stroke ward out of hours on a Sunday evening. He was admitted 2 days ago with a primary intracerebral haemorrhage and the nursing staff are concerned about his BP. On admission on Friday morning, he had an NG tube inserted due to an unsafe swallow and was started on 10mg Amlodipine, however he has pulled out multiple NG tubes since then and has not received any further antihypertensives. His RR is 20, saturates 95% on air, HR 47 (AF). His BP currently is 180/110. This is the lowest it has been in the last 2 days.
