Leila is a bright 12-year-old girl who her father says is struggling to keep track of all of her homework since moving to secondary school, often losing her planner or not writing down the necessary information to complete the tasks. However, she is very chatty and well liked, having joined the schools’ athletics, football and netball teams – ‘she’s got so much energy, always running around or got a game on or something’ – and through this has not struggled to make new friends. She also has a younger brother with a diagnosis of ASD.
