A 12-year-old girl has been referred to a paediatric neurologist
A 12-year-old girl has been referred to a paediatric neurologist. Her teachers had noticed that at school, she has the tendency to “zone out” and miss parts of the lesson. Since a concern had been raised, her parents have been keeping a very close eye on her and have noticed she has spells several times a day where she appears to go vacant, and will not respond to any questions or prompting. These episodes last around 30 seconds and can occur when she is eating, watching TV, or playing. The girl has no recollection of these events.
