A 14-year-old boy is referred from his General Practitioner with a lump in his neck

A 14-year-old boy is referred from his General Practitioner with a lump in his neck. The lump is smooth on palpation and is anterior to the right sternocleidomastoid muscle. It does not move when the patient protrudes their tongue or swallows, and it is non-pulsatile. An ultrasound scan reveals the lump is hypo-echoic.
