A 15-year-old female presents with a neck lump. She can’t remember when she first noticed it, but does remember that last year it became sore for a couple of weeks and that she needed antibiotics. On examination the lump is currently non-tender, is situated in the midline of the neck and has a smooth regular border. The lump moves upward when the patient swallows.
