A 24-year-old lady presents to her General Practitioner. She is extremely worried and upset. She complains that she has been struggling to drink and speak, which started this morning. She also complains that sounds are loud in her left ear. On examination there is profound weakness of the muscles of expression on the left side of her face, which does not spare the forehead.
