A 25-year-old female presents with sudden onset vaginal bleeding

A 25-year-old female presents with sudden onset vaginal bleeding. She describes severe cramping pain that is worst in the lower abdomen, maximal in the suprapubic area. On further questioning, it is  found that her last menstrual period was 12 weeks ago. A speculum examination reveals an open cervical os.
