A 29-year-old male presents to the emergency department with a 4-day history of fever

A 29-year-old male presents to the emergency department with a 4-day history of fever, myalgia, abdominal pain, and vomiting. His only medical history is asthma, for which he takes inhalers. He arrived in the UK 2 days ago. Notable findings on examination include a rash. Other than fever, his observations are within the normal parameters. Blood tests show an elevated haematocrit and thrombocytopenia. Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) reveals dengue infection. Both IgM and IgG enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) are negative.
