A 35-year-old male presents to A&E following a road traffic accident

A 35-year-old male presents to A&E following a road traffic accident. He complains of severe pain in his back, accompanied by numbness and tingling down both legs. An urgent spinal radiograph revealed loss of the L1 vertebral height and a fracture line through the bone with partial retropulsion of the posterior bony fragment into the spinal canal.
