A 35-year-old male presents to his GP for a follow-up appointment to discuss his blood results after presenting with symptoms of abdominal pain, bloody diarrhoea and fatigue. He presented 3 months earlier with diffuse abdominal pain and diarrhoea and was reassured that it was likely stress and diet related; however, despite lifestyle changes, his symptoms have worsened. On previous examination, his abdomen appeared normal, however, on palpation he experienced tenderness in the right lower quadrant.
