A 50-year-old male presents with left leg pain

A 50-year-old male presents with left leg pain. It has been going on for the last month and is gradually getting worse. He thought it was due to a pulled muscle from working out at the gym. He can now only walk about 100 yards before the pain stops him. He is overweight and has a past medical history of hypertension, type 2 diabetes mellitus and osteoarthritis. He smokes 20 cigarettes a day and drinks 12 units of alcohol per week. He has had two previous heart attacks for which he had a triple coronary bypass last year. He takes ramipril, bisoprolol, aspirin, metformin and paracetamol. He stopped taking his statin because they made him feel sick.
