A 60-year-old woman presents to you, her GP, complaining of right sided knee pain
A 60-year-old woman presents to you, her GP, complaining of right sided knee pain which has been ongoing for a couple of years. She is finding it increasingly hard to climb stairs due to stiffness, and the pain is worse in the morning. She says that after 20 minutes she feels much better and is able to go about her day as normal, though she has had to stop going for long walks with her dog. She has a past medical history of hypertension and type 2 diabetes mellitus. The GP examines her and finds no obvious abnormalities in the knee joint in question but notes a reduction in internal rotation of the right hip.
