A 70-year-old woman presents with fracture following a fall onto her outstretched hand. She describes tripping over on uneven ground and using her left hand to support her fall. She noted pain in her left wrist immediately following the injury. An x-ray of the joint revealed a fracture of the distal radius with dorsal angulation of the distal fragment.
