A 76-year-old woman is brought in for repeated vomiting and dysphagia. She is not tolerating food and drink orally and has been losing weight over the past few weeks. On examination, she appears dehydrated and cachetic. There appear to be no neck masses and she demonstrates her ability to initiate a swallow in a bedside swallowing test. The rest of her examination is unremarkable, except for a palpable lymph node in the left supraclavicular region.
