A middle-aged lady is seen by her general practitioner with abdominal pain

A middle-aged lady is seen by her general practitioner with abdominal pain that is severe and constant. She describes that there are periods where it is a dull ache, but it invariably returns so severely that she has vomited on several occasions. Her GP suspects she has kidney stones and so she is sent to the hospital for a CT KUB, which reveals ureteric stones that are 5-7mm in size. Despite suitable analgesia, she remains in pain.
