A patient with sickle cell disease has come into accident and emergency

A patient with sickle cell disease has come into accident and emergency with severe pain in both her legs and arms. She recently had a pneumonia infection 2 weeks ago. She scores 6 on the visual analogue scale. Despite being provided adequate analgesia, her pain score has increased to 9. Bloods and a Chest X-ray have been taken with no abnormalities reported.
