An 8-year-old boy is brought to his GP by his father
An 8-year-old boy is brought to his GP by his father. His father had recently acquired a home blood pressure monitor to ensure his recently diagnosed hypertension was under control. As his son was curious about the new gadget, he let his son use it to find out his blood pressure, which was found to be 164/98. On examination, the GP found this level of hypertension to be present in both arms of the child, whilst blood pressure in both legs was within normal ranges.
