A 14-year-old female is brought to the GP by her mother as over the past 5 months she has noticed a change in her behaviour. She has started to feel the need to switch light switches on and off ten times before sleeping at night, check all of the windows in the house are closed before leaving and lock and unlock the door five times before leaving for school. She says that she knows she does not need to do these things, but if she does not then something bad will happen.
