A 52-year-old lady previously presented to A+E with a severe headache affecting her right side. This was associated with significant pain to touch, particularly just above her right eyebrow. This was the first time she had experienced such symptoms. Prior to this episode, the patient had been feeling well in herself, aside from bilateral shoulder and mild hip pain. PMH was insignificant. The doctor suspected a diagnosis of giant cell arteritis and the patient was subsequently started on high dose steroids. The dose was subsequently weaned down over the next couple of months. In addition to medication, the GP advised the patient to exercise and adopt a healthy diet consisting of fresh fruits and vegetables to prevent high blood pressure and bone thinning. What levels in the blood is the GP most concerned about whilst the patient is on steroids?
