A 65-year-old man presents to his GP with a scrotal swelling

A 65-year-old man presents to his GP with a scrotal swelling. He noticed the swelling last week, and there has been no pain or any other symptoms. He feels well in himself and ‘just wants to get it checked out’.

He has a past medical history of hypertension and high cholesterol; he takes ramipril 10mg OD and simvastatin 80mg OD.

On examination, there is a soft scrotal mass which transilluminates and the testes are palpable.
