An 18-year-old male presents with a melanocytic naevus on his upper back that has recently become darker and persistently itchy. He also complains of bleeding upon touch. He has about 20 other moles over his back and arms that have been there since childhood, but he is worried that they may be due to his time spent in the sun playing football. His father has a history of basal cell carcinoma.
