The carers of a 76 year old woman who lives alone have raised concerns about her to her GP. She has had recurrent aspiration pneumonia linked to poor swallowing and has consequently lost a lot of weight. She can only have small amounts of soft food and chokes on food easily. She has had an endoscopy which was normal. A barium swallow was also normal.
