A 46-year-old female patient was recently referred via a 2-week-wait breast cancer pathway for a new unexplained painful lump in her right breast. She was seen in the outpatient department where a triple assessment was carried out. A biopsy of the lump confirmed a diagnosis of an advanced Invasive Ductal Carcinoma which was ER +ve and HER2 -ve. The patient was offered a lumpectomy (axillary node clearance was not indicated) and adjuvant hormonal therapy. She has a past medical history of severe endometriosis which was treated with a hysterectomy at 36 years of age and she has been on HRT since.
Please prescribe the appropriate adjuvant hormonal therapy for this patient.
