A 55 year old male is brought into A&E via ambulance after being found unconscious on the floor at home.
A 55 year old male is brought into A&E via ambulance after being found unconscious on the floor at home. He has a history of Type 1 Diabetes and usually struggles to manage his blood glucose levels. A blood glucose level is taken and confirms severe hypoglycaemia. 100ml of IV Glucose 20% is administered to help raise his blood glucose levels. The patient begins to regain consciousness and a further 50ml of IV Glucose 20% is administered.
