A 75-year-old man presents to the GP with dizziness and nausea. This is exacerbated when he changes position, particularly when he turns his head sideways and stretches his neck whilst picking things from the top shelf. He complains that his symptoms are worsening over the past week.
The GP performs a series of tests which show: Rinne positive, Weber negative bilaterally, Dix-Hallpike test positive.
He advises some maneuvers but the patient requests medication to help with his symptoms.
Prescribe one drug that would offer symptomatic relief to this patient.
