A 78-year-old lady is on the elderly care ward whilst recovering from a hip-replacement 7 days ago.

A 78-year-old lady is on the elderly care ward whilst recovering from a hip-replacement 7 days ago. Over the past 8 hours, she has developed a productive cough and a sore throat. Observations reveal a low-grade fever however chest examination and chest x-ray are normal. Acute bronchitis is suspected, and bloods are completed which reveal a White cell count of 14.1 and a CRP of 145.

Please prescribe one medication to treat this episode of acute bronchitis.
