An 82-year-old lady has presented to the orthopaedic ward with a fractured neck of femur, due to a recent fall.

An 82-year-old lady has presented to the orthopaedic ward with a fractured neck of femur, due to a recent fall. She described the fall occurring after feeling palpitations in her chest. The ECG taken in A&E showed a tachycardia with an irregular rhythm & absent P waves. When you check her previous ECGs you find she has been in the same rhythm for several years. You diagnose her with atrial fibrillation (AF). She has no other comorbidities. Please start a rate-controlling medication for her AF.
