Harry is an 89-year-old man who was admitted to the Care of the Elderly ward for an infective exacerbation of COPD. One evening, Harry gets extremely agitated and anxious and believes that the nursing staff are trying to harm him. Harry becomes violent and difficult to settle. A decision is made to give him a dose of oral diazepam to help him become more settled and less agitated.
