A course for applicants ready to practise

This course is for applicants to Norwich Medical School who want more practice, specific feedback and confidence answering questions out loud.

You do not need polished answers before you arrive. The day is there to help you develop them.

What you will get from the day

Teaching focused on UEA

Understand what to expect from the UEA interview and how to approach it. Your tutors will explain the format, work through examples and answer your questions, drawing on current published guidance and their own experience.

Interview practice with students who have been there

Practise explaining your thinking, choosing examples and responding when a question makes you pause. Your mocks are assessed by current UEA medical students who know what it is like to be in your position.

Feedback you can put into practice

Your tutors will help you identify what is working and where your answers need attention. That might mean a clearer opening, more reflection on an experience or a more concise explanation of your reasoning.

Leave with a clearer idea of your strengths and what to work on before interview day.

A chance to learn from other applicants

Watching other applicants and hearing their feedback helps you spot what makes an answer clear and where it loses focus. You may recognise habits in your own answers and find ways to improve them.

Afternoon: mocks and feedback

Put the teaching into practice through tutor-assessed mocks, personal feedback and observation.

Closing questions

Ask any remaining questions and plan your next steps. Breaks and lunch are built into the day.
1:1 Mentoring
The live course gives you the frameworks, the core topics and the confidence to handle any interview. To go further, book a 1:1 mentoring session with a current medical student from UEA. They sat the same interview recently, so they can run realistic mock stations in the UEA format, use the same timings, and give you honest, personal feedback on exactly what to improve.

Mentoring is new to Medibuddy, and we're adding new mentors and medical schools all the time. Sessions are booked separately from the live course and run on video at a time that suits you. You can start before the course, use them afterwards to practise what you've learned, or save them for a final mock just before your interview.

UEA medicine interview questions and format

UEA’s medicine interviews for 2027 entry will be held on campus, and both UK and international applicants are required to attend in person. The interview is a Multiple Mini Interview with six stations, each with a different interviewer, and you will have one and a half minutes to prepare and five minutes at each station. Your interview invitation will confirm your date and the format of your interview.

UEA does not disclose its questions, but explains that each one is written based on the Medical Schools Council’s statement on the core values and attributes needed to study medicine. Reading that statement and reflecting on how your own experiences show those values is a useful way to begin your preparation.

How to prepare for your UEA medicine interview

Get to know UEA and prepare your examples

Think about why you want to study medicine at UEA and what appeals to you about a course organised around body systems, with campus-based weeks, hospital placements and regular days in general practice. Reflect on the experiences that shaped your decision to study medicine and what they taught you about working with patients and the public. You do not need polished answers yet, but having examples to draw on gives you a useful starting point.

Put your preparation into practice on our live interview course

Spend a day with current UEA medical students who have successfully been through the interview. Your tutors will work through examples before you practise answering questions out loud in mock interviews. You will receive personal feedback and learn from watching other applicants and hearing their feedback.

Leave with a clearer idea of what to work on, whether that is choosing stronger examples, explaining what you learnt or making your answers more concise.

Book a mentor session for additional 1:1 practice

If you would like more individual support, book a mentoring session with a current UEA medical student. Use the time for mock interview practice and personal feedback on the areas you want to improve. Mentoring sessions are booked and paid for separately; they are not included in the live interview course.

Common questions about the UEA interview course

Will I practise the exact questions UEA will ask?
We use practice questions and scenarios to help you develop your approach. These draw on current published guidance and our tutors' experience, rather than a promise of the exact questions you will be asked.
Is this an official University of East Anglia course?
No. This is an independent Medibuddy course, not run or endorsed by the University of East Anglia.
Should I prepare before attending?
Think about why you want to study medicine, what you have learnt from your experiences and why you are applying to UEA. Read the university's interview information too. You do not need to memorise answers.
What if I am nervous about practising in front of others?
That is a common reason to attend. You will practise with other applicants and supportive tutors, giving you a chance to work through the nerves before interview day.
Where does the course take place?
The whole course runs live online on Google Meet, so you can join from home. After booking you will get a Google Calendar invite with the Meet link and a confirmation email. Join with the email address you booked with.
Can I attend if I am under 18?
Yes. The course is designed for applicants to Norwich Medical School, including those under 18.
What is the cancellation policy?
You can cancel for a full refund with at least 48 hours' notice before the course starts. To cancel or ask a question, email info@medibuddy.co.uk.
How does UEA use my UCAT score after the interview?
After interviews, UEA ranks applicants using the interview score, which includes the UCAT Situational Judgement Test score, together with the overall UCAT score. The interview and UCAT scores are weighted equally, and the top-ranking applicants receive offers.
Do I need work experience examples for my UEA medicine interview?
Yes. If you are invited to interview, UEA asks you to provide two examples of relevant work experience that have informed your decision to study medicine. UEA points applicants to the Medical Schools Council’s information on work experience, which can help you reflect on what you learnt.
