A course for applicants ready to practise

This course is for applicants to University of Glasgow School of Medicine who want more practice, specific feedback and confidence answering questions out loud.

You do not need polished answers before you arrive. The day is there to help you develop them.

What you will get from the day

Teaching focused on Glasgow

Understand what to expect from the Glasgow interview and how to approach it. Your tutors will explain the format, work through examples and answer your questions, drawing on current published guidance and their own experience.

Interview practice with students who have been there

Practise explaining your thinking, choosing examples and responding when a question makes you pause. Your mocks are assessed by current Glasgow medical students who know what it is like to be in your position.

Feedback you can put into practice

Your tutors will help you identify what is working and where your answers need attention. That might mean a clearer opening, more reflection on an experience or a more concise explanation of your reasoning.

Leave with a clearer idea of your strengths and what to work on before interview day.

A chance to learn from other applicants

Watching other applicants and hearing their feedback helps you spot what makes an answer clear and where it loses focus. You may recognise habits in your own answers and find ways to improve them.

1:1 Mentoring
The live course gives you the frameworks, the core topics and the confidence to handle any interview. To go further, book a 1:1 mentoring session with a current medical student from Glasgow. They sat the same interview recently, so they can run realistic mock stations in the Glasgow format, use the same timings, and give you honest, personal feedback on exactly what to improve.

Mentoring is new to Medibuddy, and we're adding new mentors and medical schools all the time. Sessions are booked separately from the live course and run on video at a time that suits you. You can start before the course, use them afterwards to practise what you've learned, or save them for a final mock just before your interview.

Glasgow medicine interview questions and format

Glasgow’s medicine interviews for 2027 entry are being held online between late November 2026 and March 2027. Each interview lasts 30 minutes in total and is split into two sections, panel A and panel B, with the same two interviewers covering both. The interviews are conversational, with no writing required, and you will receive all the necessary instructions before your interview.

Panel A explores your motivation for becoming a doctor and teamwork, while panel B focuses on communication and includes a discussion of an ethical scenario chosen from two short options. Glasgow suggests revisiting your personal statement, thinking of examples of your achievements and skills, reflecting on previous experiences and being aware of current issues and challenges in the NHS.

How to prepare for your Glasgow medicine interview

Get to know Glasgow and prepare your examples

Glasgow recommends looking at its undergraduate medical curriculum, which revisits topics in increasing depth and combines small-group teaching, problem-based learning and clinical experience from your first year. Interviewers know nothing about you other than your name, so revisit your personal statement and think about your personal characteristics and the interactions that have shaped you. You do not need polished answers yet, but having examples to draw on gives you a useful starting point.

Put your preparation into practice on our live interview course

Spend a day with current Glasgow medical students who have successfully been through the interview. Your tutors will work through examples before you practise answering questions out loud in mock interviews. You will receive personal feedback and learn from watching other applicants and hearing their feedback.

Leave with a clearer idea of what to work on, whether that is choosing stronger examples, explaining what you learnt or making your answers more concise.

Book a mentor session for additional 1:1 practice

If you would like more individual support, book a mentoring session with a current Glasgow medical student. Use the time for mock interview practice and personal feedback on the areas you want to improve. Mentoring sessions are booked and paid for separately; they are not included in the live interview course.

Common questions about the Glasgow interview course

Will I practise the exact questions Glasgow will ask?
We use practice questions and scenarios to help you develop your approach. These draw on current published guidance and our tutors' experience, rather than a promise of the exact questions you will be asked.
Is this an official University of Glasgow course?
No. This is an independent Medibuddy course, not run or endorsed by the University of Glasgow.
Should I prepare before attending?
Think about why you want to study medicine, what you have learnt from your experiences and why you are applying to Glasgow. Read the university's interview information too. You do not need to memorise answers.
What if I am nervous about practising in front of others?
That is a common reason to attend. You will practise with other applicants and supportive tutors, giving you a chance to work through the nerves before interview day.
Where does the course take place?
The whole course runs live online on Google Meet, so you can join from home. After booking you will get a Google Calendar invite with the Meet link and a confirmation email. Join with the email address you booked with.
Can I attend if I am under 18?
Yes. The course is designed for applicants to University of Glasgow School of Medicine, including those under 18.
What is the cancellation policy?
You can cancel for a full refund with at least 48 hours' notice before the course starts. To cancel or ask a question, email info@medibuddy.co.uk.
Can I reschedule my Glasgow medicine interview?
Glasgow can only reschedule for a conflicting medicine interview at another university, a conflicting school or university exam, illness or significant technical issues. For any other reason, contact the admissions team straight away, and be aware that the next available slot may be several weeks later.
How does Glasgow make decisions after the interview?
Glasgow makes its final decision solely on interview performance, and no adjustments are made to interview scores, including for illness on the day. Decisions are made on a rolling basis, with the school aiming to update UCAS by 31 March, although this can sometimes extend to the end of April.
