Morning: teaching and worked examples

Afternoon: mocks and feedback
Put the teaching into practice through tutor-assessed mocks, personal feedback and observation.
Closing questions
Ask any remaining questions and plan your next steps. Breaks and lunch are built into the day.
The live course gives you the frameworks, the core topics and the confidence to handle any interview. To go further, book a 1:1 mentoring session with a current medical student from Liverpool. They sat the same interview recently, so they can run realistic mock stations in the Liverpool format, use the same timings, and give you honest, personal feedback on exactly what to improve. Mentoring is new to Medibuddy, and we're adding new mentors and medical schools all the time. Sessions are booked separately from the live course and run on video at a time that suits you. You can start before the course, use them afterwards to practise what you've learned, or save them for a final mock just before your interview.
Liverpool medicine interview questions and format
Liverpool expects its medicine interviews for 2027 entry to be face-to-face multiple mini interviews (MMIs) on campus for home applicants, with an equivalent online MMI for international applicants. Interviews are expected to run for three weeks between mid-January and mid-February, with dates to be confirmed. Your interview invitation will confirm the format and timings for your interview.
Liverpool’s interview format is designed to be compatible with NHS values-based recruitment, and the experiences you described in your personal statement are likely to be considered. Your preparation could cover your insight into a healthcare career, caring for the community, how clearly you communicate and the values that underpin good healthcare practice.
How to prepare for your Liverpool medicine interview
Get to know Liverpool and prepare your examples
Think about why you want to study medicine at Liverpool and what appeals to you about how the course is taught. Liverpool does not routinely score personal statements when shortlisting, but the experiences in yours are likely to come up at interview, so reflect on what each one taught you about caring for others and about a career in medicine. You do not need polished answers yet, but having examples to draw on gives you a useful starting point.
Put your preparation into practice on our live interview course
Spend a day with current Liverpool medical students who have successfully been through the interview. Your tutors will work through examples before you practise answering questions out loud in mock interviews. You will receive personal feedback and learn from watching other applicants and hearing their feedback.Leave with a clearer idea of what to work on, whether that is choosing stronger examples, explaining what you learnt or making your answers more concise.
Book a mentor session for additional 1:1 practice
If you would like more individual support, book a mentoring session with a current Liverpool medical student. Use the time for mock interview practice and personal feedback on the areas you want to improve. Mentoring sessions are booked and paid for separately; they are not included in the live interview course.
Common questions about the Liverpool interview course
Will I practise the exact questions Liverpool will ask?
We use practice questions and scenarios to help you develop your approach. These draw on current published guidance and our tutors' experience, rather than a promise of the exact questions you will be asked.
Is this an official University of Liverpool course?
No. This is an independent Medibuddy course, not run or endorsed by the University of Liverpool.
Should I prepare before attending?
Think about why you want to study medicine, what you have learnt from your experiences and why you are applying to Liverpool. Read the university's interview information too. You do not need to memorise answers.
What if I am nervous about practising in front of others?
That is a common reason to attend. You will practise with other applicants and supportive tutors, giving you a chance to work through the nerves before interview day.
Where does the course take place?
The whole course runs live online on Google Meet, so you can join from home. After booking you will get a Google Calendar invite with the Meet link and a confirmation email. Join with the email address you booked with.
Can I attend if I am under 18?
Yes. The course is designed for applicants to Liverpool School of Medicine, including those under 18.
What is the cancellation policy?
You can cancel for a full refund with at least 48 hours' notice before the course starts. To cancel or ask a question, email info@medibuddy.co.uk.
How does Liverpool decide offers after the interview?
Liverpool usually ranks applicants by their overall interview scores and makes offers to the top-scoring applicants, unless concerns have been raised. In borderline cases, it may also consider academic achievement, admissions test results and contextual information.
How do I request reasonable adjustments for my Liverpool interview?
Ticking the disability box on your UCAS form does not automatically mean you will receive extra time or other adjustments at interview. Liverpool asks you to request any adjustments in response to the information sent with your interview invitation.
