A course for applicants ready to practise

This course is for applicants to St George's School of Health and Medical Sciences who want more practice, specific feedback and confidence answering questions out loud.

You do not need polished answers before you arrive. The day is there to help you develop them.

What you will get from the day

Teaching focused on St George's

Understand what to expect from the St George's interview and how to approach it. Your tutors will explain the format, work through examples and answer your questions, drawing on current published guidance and their own experience.

Interview practice with students who have been there

Practise explaining your thinking, choosing examples and responding when a question makes you pause. Your mocks are assessed by current St George's medical students who know what it is like to be in your position.

Feedback you can put into practice

Your tutors will help you identify what is working and where your answers need attention. That might mean a clearer opening, more reflection on an experience or a more concise explanation of your reasoning.

Leave with a clearer idea of your strengths and what to work on before interview day.

A chance to learn from other applicants

Watching other applicants and hearing their feedback helps you spot what makes an answer clear and where it loses focus. You may recognise habits in your own answers and find ways to improve them.

1:1 Mentoring
The live course gives you the frameworks, the core topics and the confidence to handle any interview. To go further, book a 1:1 mentoring session with a current medical student from St George's. They sat the same interview recently, so they can run realistic mock stations in the St George's format, use the same timings, and give you honest, personal feedback on exactly what to improve.

Mentoring is new to Medibuddy, and we're adding new mentors and medical schools all the time. Sessions are booked separately from the live course and run on video at a time that suits you. You can start before the course, use them afterwards to practise what you've learned, or save them for a final mock just before your interview.

St George’s medicine interview questions and format

St George’s uses multiple mini-interviews for 2027 entry. The in-person MMI at the Tooting campus has six stations of around five minutes each, with a short break between stations, and overseas fee payers can complete a remote version using SAMMI-Select. Your interview invitation will confirm the format and timings for your interview.

St George’s says the format assesses communication skills, empathy, ethical reasoning, problem-solving and your motivation for studying medicine. Your preparation could cover why you want to study medicine, what you have learnt from your experiences, and how your values match those expected of future healthcare professionals.

How to prepare for your St George’s medicine interview

Get to know St George’s and prepare your examples

St George’s Tooting campus is co-located with one of the largest teaching hospitals in the UK, and you would study alongside students from a wide range of allied health professions. Think about what appeals to you about learning in that multidisciplinary, clinically focused setting. Reflect on what your experiences have taught you about working with people, so you have examples ready to draw on.

Put your preparation into practice on our live interview course

Spend a day with current St George’s medical students who have successfully been through the interview. Your tutors will work through examples before you practise answering questions out loud in mock interviews. You will receive personal feedback and learn from watching other applicants and hearing their feedback.

Leave with a clearer idea of what to work on, whether that is choosing stronger examples, explaining what you learnt or making your answers more concise.

Book a mentor session for additional 1:1 practice

If you would like more individual support, book a mentoring session with a current St George’s medical student. Use the time for mock interview practice and personal feedback on the areas you want to improve. Mentoring sessions are booked and paid for separately; they are not included in the live interview course.

Common questions about the St George's interview course

Will I practise the exact questions St George's will ask?
We use practice questions and scenarios to help you develop your approach. These draw on current published guidance and our tutors' experience, rather than a promise of the exact questions you will be asked.
Is this an official City St George's, University of London course?
No. This is an independent Medibuddy course, not run or endorsed by City St George's, University of London.
Should I prepare before attending?
Think about why you want to study medicine, what you have learnt from your experiences and why you are applying to St George's. Read the university's interview information too. You do not need to memorise answers.
What if I am nervous about practising in front of others?
That is a common reason to attend. You will practise with other applicants and supportive tutors, giving you a chance to work through the nerves before interview day.
Where does the course take place?
The whole course runs live online on Google Meet, so you can join from home. After booking you will get a Google Calendar invite with the Meet link and a confirmation email. Join with the email address you booked with.
Can I attend if I am under 18?
Yes. The course is designed for applicants to St George's School of Health and Medical Sciences, including those under 18.
What is the cancellation policy?
You can cancel for a full refund with at least 48 hours' notice before the course starts. To cancel or ask a question, email info@medibuddy.co.uk.
What should I bring to my St George’s medicine interview?
For an in-person interview, St George’s asks you to bring a valid passport or a UK driving licence, full or provisional, as photo ID. Without physical photo ID, you will not be able to interview. Phones and smart watches must be switched off and stored in your bag, and you cannot refer to notes during the MMI.
Can I get reasonable adjustments for my St George’s MMI?
Yes. St George’s says there is no assessed reading and no writing task, as all text is read aloud, so extra reading time is not given. For any other adjustment, let the interviews team know in advance, and you may be asked for supporting evidence, which is kept confidential and has no bearing on your outcome.
