A 12-year-old obese boy has a history of snoring for the past year. His mum is worried as his school grades have deteriorated, and he is seen to be increasingly tired and irritable in the day. Both his parents snore but have otherwise been asymptomatic. Examination of his oral cavity revealed enlarged adenoids and a low-lying palate.
